Our History

Barrons is a 3rd-generation family-run Cafe, Takeaway and Bed and breakfast situated in the Heart of the Seaside Town of Moville, close to the Shore and all local Amenities. It has been in business for over 50 years. Elizabeth and Jim initially founded it, and is now continued by their daughter Marie and Granddaughter Bridgeen. Barrons has a longstanding reputation for excellent Quality Food, friendly, welcoming service and great Value for Money.

Our extensive and varied Menu attracts visitors and keeps our Loyal Local Customers returning repeatedly. From our famous freshly cooked breakfasts, lunch specials, and all the other items you find on a good café menu, all tastes can be catered to. As all our food is cooked to order, if you have a special requirement, just let us know, and we will try to cater to your needs.

For your comfort, our En-Suite Accommodation has all the modern amenities such as Wi-Fi, T.V. and Tea and Coffee, and to take full advantage of your Stay, if you’re in no rush, Breakfast is served to suit you.

Barron`s reputation is evident by the continued return of our loyal customers who return time and again; indeed, some sometimes remark that a visit to Moville is not complete without a visit to Barrons.

At The Heart of Moville

Moville is a Heritage Town, once the final departure Point for those Sailing to the New World in America; it is now a very welcoming Town, with people returning to explore their Family History and Tour around the Famous and beautiful Inishowen Peninsula, which according to the Late John Hume is Ireland rolled into one small Area.

To take advantage of your stay, and if you fancy a short drive, Irelands most Northernly Point, Bambas Crown, The Doagh Famine Village and Dunree Military Museum to name but a few are less than an Hour’s Drive away. With the Ferry running to Magilligan during the Summer, Moville is also an Ideal Location to discover the Giants Causeway, Carrick-a Reed Rope Bridge and The World-Famous Bushmills Distillery.
